Daniel Merlot a.k.a. Crash Berlin is a music producer,musician and dj originally hailing from San Francisco.
Currently Merlot is the live music director/keyboardist for Porcelain Black (2101/Universal Records).She is produced & signed by famed producer Red One (Lady Gaga).They recently played live on David Letterman show and toured with Lil Wayne on his 2011 25 city sold out basketball arena tour.

Daniel also is the producer for Japanese mega-popstars Hangry & Angry which hail from the popgroup Morning Musume . Morning Musume hold the record for the highest album sales ever by a female pop group in Japan.He was the musical director and played keys on their 2010 sold out japan tour and also played to an audience of 500,000 In Taiwan for the 2010 new years countdown.Merlot has produced and released numerous other asian artists .
Merlot has just released songs with asian popstar Laure Shang who is China’s top singer who sings in english,chinese & french.Laure is the 2006 champion of the Supergirl singing talent tv show which is the most popular show in Chinese broadcast history, drawing over 400 million viewers.Daniel is also the music director the Tokyo Girls Collection fashion event in China that launched in 2011 to 10,000 attendees.

Daniel started in San Francisco by organizing an ongoing series of successfull events in the late 90's that included top deejays ,performance artists and live music .Merlot then expanded to hosting the same type of events in Tokyo and Los Angeles.
While out in Tokyo Merlot hosted t.v. shows such as MTV countdown,BBC specials on the Tokyo music scene and played several times on the popular music channel Space Shower T.V.He also toured and played on Japans biggest electronica dance festivals at that time.

Merlot also acted in many japanese tv commercials ,tv shows and promotional videos at that time.He got cast in the main role in an Asahi tea commercial with Miss Japan Fujiwara Norika.

Moving to Los Angeles he helped launch Vogue Magazine/Conde Naste fashion podcast series.Scoring and co producing those .This series was launched on Vogue’s website and was hosted by Katy Perrys stylist Johnny Wujek.

Merlot also scored the famous fight scene with Jessica Biel & Wesley snipes in the hollywood movie Blade Trinity.He collaborated with hip hop legend Kool Keith for the score.Then released 2 more tunes with Kool Keith .

Daniel was also the main deejay for the 2003 30 city Lollapalooza summer tour and also Jane's Addiction' touring dj.Daniel also recorded on Perry Farrells solo album (virgin) playing guitar. As a dj he played 3 years in a row at the at Miami's Ultra Music Festival which attracts up to 100,000 people.

Daniel has deejayed live on the samebill with such types as Justice,Bjork,Peaches,Janes Addiction,Lil Jon,Kool Keith, Lee Scratch Perry,Crystal Castles,Black Ghosts,The Horrors,Dj Spooky,Freq Nasty,Bassnectar etc. etc.

Daniel Merlot is currently based in Los Angeles where he splits his time between there and Tokyo.
